Overview

Founded by Bill Keith, Perfect Bar was invented to honor his father’s legacy of prioritizing nutrition and wellness.

His father, Dr. Bud Keith, was a fitness enthusiast and nutritionist who believed in the power of whole foods to nourish the body. His passion for health led him to create a delicious and nutritious snack for his family, which later became the foundation for Perfect Bar.

The company's core values revolve around delivering high-quality, nutrient-dense products while promoting a healthy, balanced lifestyle for its customers.

Perfect Bar sets itself apart from other protein bars on the market with its commitment to using organic, non-GMO, and gluten-free ingredients. The main protein sources in Perfect Bar are derived from nut butter, such as peanut, almond, or cashew butter, and supplemented with rice protein.

These high-quality protein sources contribute to the bars' 15 grams of protein per serving, making them a great option for fueling workouts, aiding muscle recovery, or simply satisfying hunger.

Another key component of Perfect Bar's nutritional profile is its wide array of vitamins and minerals. The bars are crafted with dried whole food powders from various fruits and vegetables, providing a natural source of essential nutrients.

These powders are combined with other wholesome ingredients, such as organic honey, nonfat dry milk, and dried whole egg powder, to create a well-rounded and nutritious snack.

Are Perfect Bars Healthy for You?

The Perfect bar is NOT something that you should be using for your workouts, owing to its high-fat content. That aside, this is a great filler snack when you’re just short on space and want to get a quick bite for energy.

Furthermore, we recommend purchasing a refrigerator bar in winter because then, nature provides the cooler!

These bars are sold online and carried by retailers like Walmart, Trader’s Joe, and Wegman’s. All in all, this is a fantastic snack for the workplace or when you’re going on weekend trips, but this bar is not recommended for fitness enthusiasts.

Carbohydrates: ⭐⭐⭐⭐

Perfect Bars contain 25 to 29 grams of carbohydrates, making them an excellent source of energy for workouts or kick-starting your day.

However, over half of the carbs come from sugar, with 18 grams out of 25 grams being simple sugars. This might be a concern for some, but the bars still have a low glycemic index, thanks to their other ingredients.

As a result, they provide sustained energy without causing crashes.

Convenience: ⭐⭐⭐

Requiring refrigeration, Perfect Bars aren't the most convenient option for on-the-go snacking.

While they can last up to a week without refrigeration, they're sensitive to heat and can melt in higher temperatures. This extra maintenance step might not fit everyone's lifestyle, but it also means the bars are free from artificial preservatives and unnatural ingredients.

Fat: ⭐⭐⭐

Perfect Bars have a higher-than-average fat content (19g), which might not be suitable for those watching their fat intake.

However, only three grams are saturated fats, and they contain no trans fats. Most of the fat comes from healthy sources like nut butter, powdered milk, and eggs. Unsaturated fats, like those found in nuts, can lower cholesterol, increase energy, and improve nutrient absorption.

Fiber: ⭐⭐⭐⭐

Containing 2-4 grams of fiber, Perfect Bars promote digestive health and help you feel fuller for longer. Fiber also helps the body burn more calories, as it's harder to digest. With Perfect Bars, adding fiber to your diet has never been easier or more delicious.

Cost: ⭐⭐⭐⭐

Though slightly pricier than other protein bars, Perfect Bars offer great value with their high-quality, nutrient-dense ingredients.

The average price for an individual Perfect is $2.49, whereas if you buy a pack of 12, you get a price of $24. For those who often skip meals or resort to fast food, Perfect Bars provide a more cost-effective and nutritious alternative.

Glycemic Index: ⭐⭐⭐⭐

Despite their high sugar content, Perfect Bars maintain a low glycemic index due to additional ingredients that slow down sugar absorption. This makes them a well-balanced option for those watching their blood sugar levels, ensuring sustained energy without a crash.

Flavors: ⭐⭐⭐⭐

Perfect Bars offer a variety of rich, nutty flavors catering to different tastes. They have dairy-free Chocolate Walnut Brownie, peanut butter options with coconut, chocolate with sea salt, and plain almond butter, among others.

However, those with nut allergies and sensitivity to sweetness may find the flavors too sweet or unsuitable.

Overall rating: ⅘ Stars

What Flavors To Avoid?

If you are someone who is going to consume this protein bar for weight loss, then we could recommend straying clear of the peanut butter and honey flavors due to their high-calorie content.

The daily recommended caloric intake, as per the American Heart Association, stands at 100 calories of sugar per day for women and 150 calories per day for men.

If consuming protein is your only goal, you should go for the Peanut Butter Perfect Bar, as it has the highest protein level. Some of the best flavors which are low in fats but still have a holistic nutritional profile are pumpkin pie, almond butter, and blueberry cashew.

Taste Test

In this section, we will cover some of the most popular flavors of the Perfect Bar and review the taste profile.

  • Coconut Peanut Butter: This surprisingly delicious combo of coconut and peanut butter is sweet and crumbly, thanks to the finely shredded coconut. It's a tasty way to enjoy the flavors of coconut while benefiting from a variety of nutrients.

  • Blueberry Cashew: This flavor offers a delightful mix of cashew and blueberry, with a taste akin to a blueberry muffin. It's the ideal option for those who dislike peanut butter or chocolate, offering a unique and refreshing alternative.

  • Peanut Butter: This bar offers a soft, moist consistency and a delightful peanut butter flavor.

It's like having a bite of homemade peanut butter fudge with a hint of sweetness to satisfy your cravings. Those tiny peanut bits add a crunchy surprise, but be warned: the sweetness might be a tad overwhelming for some.

  • Dark Chocolate Almond: While this bar may appear to be a chocolate lover's dream, it falls short in delivering an intense chocolate flavor. Its texture is light and fluffy but a bit dry and crumbly. For chocoholics, it might not be satisfying, but for others, there are better options.

  • Dark Chocolate Chip Peanut Butter: A harmonious blend of salty peanut butter and bold, semi-sweet chocolate chips, this flavor is a crowd-pleaser. It's more savory than sweet, making it the "vanilla ice cream" of Perfect Bars.

Enjoy it without worrying about turning your taste buds away with too much sweetness or strong additional flavors.

  • Chocolate Chip Cookie Dough: This delightful bar resembles the Dark Chocolate Chip Peanut Butter variant but smells and tastes like cookie dough. With a grainy, raw cookie dough texture, each bite alternates between sweet and salty. It's an exciting flavor that doesn't fail to impress!

Verdict

So, is the Perfect bar worth it? The answer is it depends. Eating it might be a good idea if you aren’t very strict on how much fat you consume or are looking for the occasional sugar burst.

This bar is quite healthy overall, and the ingredients are also organic. However, we do not recommend daily consumption for longer terms.

This bar doesn’t contain superfoods in a quantity large enough to make any real impact on your health.

There is also the option of going for ‘easy protein’ alternatives when it comes to your diet, such as protein powders, smoothies, eggs, and nuts. While prepping meals or carrying protein shakes around might not be feasible for you, it makes for a much healthier alternative than high-fat protein bars.
